Wind Power
Mosscliff Environmental Ltd is East Anglia's wind power specialist and has expert understanding of high-performing best solutions for wind power across the UK.
Wind turbines are probably the most cost effective way of generating electricity via a renewable resource – and they attract payments through the Government Feed-In Tariff scheme >>
As East Anglia’s leading supplier and installer of wind turbines, Mosscliff Environmental Ltd has extensive experience in assessing proposed wind power sites in the UK.
For wind power to be effective, the turbines have to be located correctly; the key issues are:
- local wind speed
- obstructions such as buildings and trees
- proximity to neighbours (min.110m distance)
- effective tower heights
- potential planning constraints
Access for a crane is also required to install the turbine and trenches need to be dug for the cable that connects the turbine to your electricity supply. A suitable location for the generation meter is also required.
Securing planning permission can be more challenging for conservation areas, listed buildings, Areas Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and green belt. Planners will consider the noise, visual impact and any impact on wildlife. We can ensure that all these concerns are addressed in the planning application.
At Mosscliff Environmental Ltd, our team is not only prepared and experienced in dealing with planning matters, but once installed we can point more than just your wind turbine in the right direction.
We pride ourselves on our after sales support and maintenance programmes and will also keep you updated on useful information about Government incentive payments.
Beneficial all round
Wind energy is clean, very green and free - and it attracts Feed-In Tariff payments >>
Microwind turbines can produce enough electricity for lighting and electrical appliances in a home or business. Wind power makes the most of a remote position, yet turbines can be sited close to livestock as there is no generator noise apart from the wind turning the blades.
Measured in kilowatt-hours peak, the annual output per 1kWp is around 3,000 kW; for photovoltaic systems, this would be only 880kWh.
Our wind turbine units
We understand more than just the nuts and bolts, so as well as getting on with the job of turbine supply and installation, we have invested our time on an ongoing basis to research available units, paying close attention to performance, reliability, and above all, value for money. We are currently the official regional or national agent for a number of leading quality brands.
Our turbines range from 5kW to 500kW systems. All have good low wind speed performance, so that, sited correctly, each unit should generate reasonable amounts of wind power.
